New features and highlights for Puy du Fou 2024 season

After a year 2023 marked by the creation of the show “Le Mime et l’Étoile”, the event “La Frairie de la Toussaint” and a new attendance record with 2.6 million visitors, Puy du Fou is approaching this 2024 season as a year of transition.

Something new at Le Dernier Panache

In 2024, Le Dernier Panache is evolving thanks to new digital effects! Puy du Fou has decided to breathe new life into its show “Le Dernier Panache” to mark its 8th anniversary. The Vendée park has tackled the video projection system! It now plays a major role in “dressing up” the sets with images, using a technique known as video mapping. For this refurbishment, new state-of-the-art video projectors have been installed, while the images have been re-imagined to enhance the various scenes in the show. It’s an update that promises, once again, to thrill and excite.

The Frairie de la Toussaint returns

Last year, Puy du Fou launched a new ephemeral show to strengthen its end-of-season offering during the All Saints’ Day school holidays. But Puy du Fou has decided to go against the trend of Halloween events that flood most leisure parks at this time of year… Puy du Fou has come up with “La Frairie de la Toussaint”, a major entertainment event inspired by the great royal festivals of the Middle Ages.
Come and discover La Frairie de la Toussaint from 19 October 2024. La Frairie de la Toussaint also features a video mapping show in the courtyard of the Château.

The Great Egg Hunt

Puy du Fou is celebrating Easter, and you don’t have to be in the park to enjoy it… From 31 March to 15 April 2024, the park is launching a Great Egg Hunt throughout France! You’ll have to solve a number of riddles published on Puy du Fou’s social networks (Facebook and Instagram) to try and find 10 eggs hidden in 10 towns across France: Angers, Orléans, Bordeaux, Brest, Lyon, Strasbourg, Nantes, Marseille, Versailles and Paris. But these cities weren’t chosen by chance, as they all have something to do with the heroes of Puy du Fou shows.
Just a chocolate egg? No, the 10 Easter eggs have all been made from wood by Puy du Fou clogmaker, then hand-painted by an artist-illustrator. So it’s a real collector’s item at stake. Get ready, the egg hunt is about to begin!

A new shop and 2 new craftsmen

The richness of Puy du Fou lies not only in its shows, but also in the variety of craft shops and stalls to be discovered in the different period villages. In 2024, a new souvenir shop will open in Font-Rognou (formerly the medieval city) near the master glassmaker. Called La Barbacane, the shop will sell a range of medieval items including replica weapons, biscuits, medieval teas and hypocras. The shop will also feature products linked to the village’s nearby shows, Le Bal des Oiseaux Fantômes and Les Chevaliers de la Table Ronde.

A new shop and a new craftsman are coming to Font-Rognou in 2024. A medal-winning craftsman is coming to the village of Chasseloup in 2024.

Also in Font-Rognou, you’ll meet a new craftswoman. A wax-maker has set up shop in the village. She will be offering a wide range of wax-based products: statues, candles, etc. As for the village of Chasseloup (formerly the 18th-century village), it has welcomed a medal-winning craftsman! He’ll be presenting his wares in a shop called Le Refuge du Pèlerin. You’ll find struck medals and pilgrim’s staffs.

The Olympic flame at Puy du Fou

On its way to Paris, the Olympic flame will pass through Vendée, and it was obvious that it had to pass through the alleys of Puy du Fou. So on Tuesday 4 June 2024, between 12:30 and 13:15, visitors will be able to see the real Olympic Flame making its way through the park.

Lots of awards for Le Mime et l’Étoile

Puy du Fou’s most recent show, a technical and artistic feat in black and white, is collecting international awards from all quarters. Among the many prizes awarded by juries made up of professionals from the parks and attractions industry, Le Mime et l’Étoile has received :

  • Thea Award in the “Outstanding Achievement in Live Entertainment” category
  • Brass Ring Live Entertainment Excellence Award in the “Most Creative Theatrical Production” category
  • Park World Excellence Award in the “Best Live Entertainment of 2023” category

5th edition of the Foulée des Géants

It’s now a key event of the year at Puy du Fou: the night-time running race La Foulée des Géants is back in 2024 for a 5th edition. On Saturday 4 October, you can lace up your trainers and run amid the sumptuous scenery of the park and hotels.
